My name is Ron. I am now a 72 year old Pensioner (as of Dec 09), living in
the South of the United Kingdom, although born and bred in the Midlands
(a Brummie)!
Married for just over 50 years with 3 happily married sons, 6 Grandchildren
and even 1 Great Grandchild with another due March 2010 !! I am "old fashioned" not only in view, but also in morals and outlook - oh! by the way I tend to call a "spade a spade." Believe me, YOU will get the REAL facts and some "Home Truths" from me.
WHY have I joined the SEO Training Club?
I met Alison recently at a seminar in London and the clear message I got was two
important factors for me:
1. She is as passionate about her subject as I am about mine, and she is just as passionate about helping 'Beginners'.
2. She (like me) has an objective of providing information at a level and
understanding that the 'Real Beginner' can learn from.
I often say 'I help people to get out of the sandpit to an acceptable high jump
level - I will leave it to the techies of this world to take people from the
high jump bar to pole vault level!
WHY did I set up my OWN Business at my age?
In the simplest and most direct terms - I was frankly fed up with being conned,
scammed and lied to. Then, having learned a few lessons, and dealing with some
genuine online business opportunities I discovered that I could NOT take advantage of them due to:
- My OWN lack of computer skills.
- My OWN lack of Internet "know how".
- The failure of the providers of those genuine opportunities to recognise
that REAL Beginners need to start in the basement.
Finally
telling you what to do but are sadly lacking in their ability to SHOW you
what to do.
Believe me, setting up and running an Internet business is NOT difficult - there is NO difference, in principle, to setting up and running a High Street
business and an Internet Business.
You still need to PLAN what you are going to do ñ and set up your business properly. You still need a Shop Window for your business (your website and/or blog) and you still need to promote it. After all if you don't tell you don't sell!
My plan is simple - to teach Beginners. My goal is simple too - to top up our
income by £300-£500 per month (which is exceeded on auto pilot nowadays).
There are really TWO or THREE fundamental differences in operating online against operating offline.
1. It is quicker and cheaper to set up a business online.
2. There are some new skills you require online, like building and creating a
web site and/or a blog (these are NOT, I repeat NOT difficult to learn or do anymore). There are some other skills you will need too.
3. There is a different way of promoting your products online too - that is another learning curve.
IF you have not discovered it or realised it already, then recognise this FACT right now....despite what you are frequently told.....
The Internet IS NO OVERNIGHT GET RICH SCHEME for the beginner (unless you are very, very lucky).
I was determined to overcome ALL of the problems confronting the REAL Beginner
who is NEW to the Internet.
I was determined to LEARN the skills necessary to be set up and run a successful business online.
I was determined to get my own back on all those scammers, cheat and liars out there and provide a GENUINE, REAL, HONEST and SIMPLE down to earth, step-by-step process for the tens of thousands of REAL Beginners out there who, like me, just want to run a simple but rewarding online business.
THAT is of course for YOU to judge - and judge me you must.
With ALL of the above information, AND my background, which for many, many years was in Sales & Marketing and Sales Training, you will appreciate WHY I opted to develop my Business specifically to HELP the REAL Beginners get set up and started.
WHERE am I taking my Business
I am taking it to NEW levels with my ever increasing knowledge, along with the desire and ability to try and make things even SIMPLER for the REAL Beginner. I
have reached a point now where I can teach virtually ANYONE with NO previous
experience how to build and create their very OWN website quite quickly - no extensive HTML required - just a small amount of grammatical stuff such as how to put things in bold, italics, change font color style and size etc., plus a good knowledge of tables and you are well on the way to success.
Two more relevant points here -
FIRST - look at just one of my current websites - www.wizcomarketing.com - then REMEMBER, I knew nothing about all of this a short while ago !!!
SECOND - I started from the 'sandpit' too. My knowledge was based upon being able to use a Word Document and write a letter, use a spreadsheet (I was pretty
nifty with that), send and receive emails and browse the Internet. THAT was the
sum total of my knowledge when I started in Dec 06.
