The New Rules of Marketing and PR
If you are struggling to understand how best to integrate public relations and marketing with the latest social media techniques then "The New Rules" is a must-have ! I read a copy of the first edition and was really pleased to discover that a second edition is released next month (January 2010). This new edition includes new case studies and current examples and reflects the latest marketing and PR techniques using social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
Also covered are blogging, video marketing, podcasting and using social networking sites for business. It's written in plain English and is the type of book which is great to pick up and dip into when you need to get an overview. Of course, the "New Rules" which are discussed in the book are changing rapidly and the only way to keep bang up to date would be by reading the leading edge blogs and discussion sites on a frequent basis. But back in the real world, few of us have time to start to learning the background by scratch and this is the main reason I recommend this book.
